MG ZETA VER KA

Birthday build! I’ve had the Zeta ver ka, done for a while now, but just haven’t had a good chance to take pictures of it!  While I’m glad we finally got a new 1/100 Zeta Gundam after quite some time, the kit does seem to have minimal detail compared with what we tend to expect from ver ka kits.  I did do some light scribing and color separation to add some flavor to the design which came out great!

After posing this kit in the photoshoot, I wasn’t very satisfied with the amount of times the body and shoulders were falling off the kit.  This is probably thanks to the great transformation mechanic they implemented into the kit, so it wasn’t easy to get great shots of the kit. Id still recommend picking up the kit if you’re a fan of the zeta gundam series, but I’m really hoping that we get a new mkii Gundam sometime soon.  Please Bandai!

Build details

Pros:

  • First new 1/100 zeta kit in quite some time
  • Kit is quite flexible with some good articulation
  • Able to do transformation pretty easily compared to previous versions
  • Waterslides included

Cons:

  • Body tends to fall apart easily when posing (reminds me of rg zeta fragility)
  • Shoulders tend to come detached easily when posing
  • For a ver ka kit, seems to have minimal detail
