VIDAR Ver. Arsene

OK, OK, I already know there is an Arsene model kit that exists, but where’s the fun in that? What if the Phantom Thieves had their own Build Divers team? I mean, its a totally plausible sidequest too since Persona 5 takes place in Tokyo where the Gundam Base is and also where Gundam Build Divers takes place! Mind blown!

This was a pretty fun build that involving repainting the HG Vidar kit red to more accurately represent Arsene. The kit itself has a lot of similarities to the persona with bladed feet and a sinister look! To match the claws, i used one of the IBO option sets originally used for the Barbatos Lupus. I took another chance to try using epoxy putty to make a “hat” similar to Arsene’s for the head. Even though, I wasn’t able to get it totally smooth through sanding, the shape came out pretty well. Finally I painted the angel wings from the Build Divers set black and added a bit of white highlights. The Ren Amamiya was a perfect pairing with the kit, although it was difficult to pose due to it possibly being bootleg!

Persona 5 was one of my favorite RPGs I’ve completed in recent memory on PS4, and I’m looking forward to going through it again next year with Persona 5R. I still haven’t decided if I’ll make a full 5 diver team consisting of some of the other Phantom Thieves personas, but I’ll keep it going if I can finish my backlog!
