MAVERICK HUNTERS

I’ve finally completed my gunpla tribute to the Maverick hunters of the Megaman X series! While making my Megaman X kitbash, I had already started brainstorming ideas to make Zero.

Since Zero has a pretty unique design, I had to think of ways to recreate his look. I used 3 kits for this kitbash in addition to some effect parts sets. This included the HG G bouncer, HG GTO Waff, and HGFC Nobel Gundam. Getting the hair from the Nobel Gundam was a perfect look, but custom-fitting it into the kit was tricky; I had to drill a hole at the back of the head wide enough to insert a spare joint to connect the two. I also shortened the length of the shoulder armor and put in epoxy putty to fill in the holes left from cutting off the plastic. Zero also has such a wide set of moves in the games, I painted some effect pieces from the Ninpulse beam effect part set to match his varied move set.

I was pretty pleased with the finished result, so I threw in my X kitbash in for some nice photos. I guess, at some point I’ll need to match them up with an adversary like Vile or Sigma eh?
